In An Emergency

What to do when we're closed

If your pet has a problem during surgery hours, please telephone the practice immediately and we will ensure that you are offered an appointment on a priority basis. Please make it clear that the matter is not routine and we will do our utmost to attend to you at the earliest opportunity.

While everyone hopes they never have a life-threatening emergency involving their pet, it is inevitable that sometimes urgent out-of-hours treatment is required.

All emergency calls outside of normal opening hours are handled by Vets Now. Vets Now are a dedicated emergency care provider. The benefit of this change is that in an emergency your animal will always be seen by a vet whose sole duty is emergency night cover - they are on a night rota and have no duties during the day, they can provide constant care and supervision during the night, something that is not always possible in general practice. This ensures a higher standard of care all round. Day patients requiring overnight care will also be managed by Vets Now - this will be discussed with you if it applies to your pet.

Their initial out of hours and consultation fee is £276.  Estimates for the cost of the treatment and investigation required will then be discussed at the consultation.
