Repeat Prescriptions

Order your pet's prescriptions from us

You can request a repeat prescription for any pet registered with us and on long-term medication. Please allow at least 2 working days notice so that your request can be authorised by a veterinary surgeon.

We generally ask to re-examine your pet at least every 6 months (or more often in some cases), to look for any changes in the condition and for any side effects or new problems. The law requires that this check is done when prescribing prescription only medicines. You will be advised if your pet is due a re-examination.

Repeat prescription requests can be made over the phone or in person at any of our clinics.

Registered clients may: obtain Prescription Only Medicines, Veterinary (POM-Vs) from the Veterinary Surgeon at this clinic, or ask for a written prescription and obtain these medicines from another Veterinary Surgeon or a pharmacy.

The cost of a written prescription is available on request. The Veterinary Surgeon may prescribe POM-Vs only for animals under their care. A prescription may not be appropriate if your animal is an inpatient or immediate treatment is required.

The policy of this practice regarding providing repeat prescriptions, whether written or not, is dictated by law and is as follows:

The patient must be assessed by the Veterinary Surgeon every 6 months in order to be deemed under the care of the Veterinary Surgeon. A standard re-examination fee will be applied to this health check.

Further information on other prices involved is available on request.
